With the 2025 season well underway, the Freestyle Pro Tour is excited to announce its full 2025 event calendar!
This season we will be returning to multiple highlight locations from previous years, as well as bringing new destinations to the calendar and featuring brand-new, exciting spots all over the world. The three disciplines of Freestyle, FoilStyle, and Tow-In are all returning for this year’s calendar, guaranteed to bring high-octane windsurfing action at every stop – with the climax of the season happening at the finale at the inaugural FPT x PWA event in Jericoacoara, Brazil.
This year’s events promise to elevate the limits of windsurfing competition and push new boundaries for freestyle windsurfing, with prize pools being higher than ever and competition taking place all over the world presenting a truly international world tour, the new and familiar faces on tour are guaranteed to provide top-class action and competition.
With the tour already well underway having completed its first two stops at the Boot in Dusseldorf and in Cape Town, the FPT has already pushed out €20,000 in prize money and has established a pecking order in both the Freestyle and Tow-In fleets, with the rankings available to view and follow on our website.
Sardinia Returns After 7 Years
The FPT returns, after Sardinia’s absence from the calendar for six years! June in Porto Pollo is amongst the windiest times of the year there, guaranteeing high wind freestyle action to come. With a very strong local scene, many of the local rippers will certainly make a showing at their home spot, guaranteeing intense battles on the water with some of the tour’s more established riders. Coupled with this being one of multiple official Youth & Junior events on the calendar this year, the local youngsters are sure to make an impact. Alongside the Youth & Juniors, a pro-men’s fleet has also been confirmed, with a prize pool of €5,000 secured.
Inaugural Competition at Paros
A first-ever competition on the Greek Island of Paros is looking to present itself as a pinnacle of fin freestyle competition – a flatwater paradise guaranteeing to bring the best of both huge power moves, and combo moves. Nuclear Meltemi winds that frequent the area in the summertime are known to consistently reach speeds over 30 knots, guaranteeing our riders the conditions to perform some of the most insane moves seen in freestyle. Fourth Time’s the Charm in Geneva?
The tour will once again return to the shores of Lake Geneva, this time to run competition in two competitions: FoilStyle and Tow-In, at the GVA Wind Festival. With an incredible show put on by both disciplines in the 2021 and 2023 seasons, and the Tow-In in 2024 producing some incredible highlights, we are once again making a return. This year’s event will feature the largest FoilStyle competition of the season, as well as the Tow-In World Series finals. Prepare for action later in the year, as looking at past events, this isn’t one you’ll want to miss!
Back to Naxos for Round Two
Following the incredible season finale at Naxos last year, the tour returns for another exciting competition. Lennart Neubauer, who took the win alongside the European title here at his home spot last year, is sure to be under fire from many of the other riders making their way to this event. Will he be able to defend his title and claim victory on his home turf once again this year?
All Roads Lead to Jeri
The 2025 FPT Season finale will take place at an all-new event in collaboration with the PWA, bringing the tour to one of the sport’s hottest destinations in recent years – Jericoacoara, Brazil. The location has recently experienced a little Rennaisance as a freestyle windsurfing spot, with many riders over the past few years choosing to spend their winter off-seasons there. So, to end things off with a bang, we are bringing the season finale of this year’s tour there, in collaboration with the Professional Windsurfers Association. This event promises to showcase freestyle windsurfing at its absolute peak, with top riders from all over the world coming to compete at the biggest, most exciting event on the 2025 calendar.
More Freestyle Action at FPT-Endorsed Events
The 2025 season calendar also includes events hosted by local windsurfing associations in multiple countries, backed and endorsed by the Freestyle Pro Tour. Japan, Germany and Denmark will all be home of such events this year, including competition at destinations such as:
