Surf Opening Austria is confirmed

After a year of cancellations we are thrilled to announce that the EFPT stage at the Surf Opening in Neusiedl am See, Austria is confirmed! We’ll kick the 2021 season off in old manners, getting Europes elite to one of the the windsurfing mekkas of central Europe – lake Neusiedl. € 10.000,- prize money for mens freestyle and € 5.000.- for tow-in are up for grabs at the four day event, taking place from the 22nd through to the 25th of April 2021. With no international freestyle events in 2020, the riders are hungry to compete again and we may look forward to an exciting launch of this event season: who will be on top of the game? Who are the newcomers? AND can Yentel Caers (JP/Neilpryde) defend his European Champion title?

It is out of question that this years edition will be different to the previous years, when thousands of spectators visited the event area over the weekends. 2021 is going to be a ‘quiet’ one, an event where the sport is 100% in focus and where the continuous safety of the riders and crew will be the highest goal at all times. More information on the prevention concept, the program and an official statement of head of the organisation team, Georg Kloibhofer, will follow in a more detailed press release in the upcoming week.

For now, you may mark those dates in your calendar when we will finally see the Worlds best freestylers back in action.
