The Trip that went sideways

It was Alex Mertens intention to explore one Europe windsurfing capitals, Tarifa in Spain. The young American wanted to see and experience everything that this land and sea had to offer. With a promising forecast he flew out to Spain, to team up with Duotone/Fanatic rider Riccardo Marca from Italy, planing to windsurf, surf, film and take pictures of this magical destination.

After a very short time-period however, Spain was in lockdown due to Coronavirus. The world changed rapidly and the two freestylers have now been quarantined for more than six weeks – like basically the rest of central and south Europe.

Nevertheless, Alex managed to pull together some beautiful images of life before the world changed. His storytelling is pure and beautiful in speech and in pictures. Enjoy.
