The EFE 2015 - Day 1

After four successful freestyle events in 2015, the EFPT set up stage at Brutal Beach in the South of France for the final tour-stop this year. It has been a tough battle for the top positions in the overall ranking throughout the whole season with big names like Amado Vrieswijk (Severne/JP), Adrien Bosson (North/Fanatic), Yentel Caers (JP/Neilpryde) and Steven Van Broeckhoven (JP/Neilpryde) regularly taking part in the events.

Just two weeks ago the result at the DAM-X event at Brouwersdam, Holland mixed up the overall ranking putting Vrieswijk into first, Caers into second and Bosson who was the former leader of the tour into third place. All the riders are eager to fight for the first place here at Six Fours les Plages. Besides the top three also multiple European Champion Steven Van Broeckhoven who currently holds the 6th place and Hugo de Sousa (RRD/RRD) ranked 4th overall, can still win the tour. De Sousa however could not be the official European Champion- in this case the best European will take the title.

Adrien Bosson trying out the conditions

19 riders from 10 nations registered for the 4th EFPT event at the beaches of South of France. Apart from most of the top EFPT competitors it is good to see many French riders getting involved. Bastien Rocco Rama (North/Fanatic), Paco Mercader, Loic Viandier  (F2/Sailloft), Lucien Bottex (North/Fanatic) and Roumian Tim joined the French pros Julien Mas (JP) and Adrien Bosson for this international freestyle battle.

Party SUP

The first day at Six Fours les Plages started off with strong wind and waves that showed the potential of the spot, yet it dropped fast through-out the morning and left the crew and riders on stand-by for the rest of the day. After the official opening ceremony in the beautiful evening light at Brutal Beach EFPT race director Tom Hartmann decided to call it a day.

The forecast for the upcoming weekend however looks very promising with strong easterly wind and we keep our fingers crossed for it to remain like this.
